HDHP vs. PPO Break-Even

Model the annual cost of an HDHP+HSA against a PPO at any spending level, including the HSA tax shield, and find the medical-spend level where the HDHP flips cheaper. Client-side, zero PII. Port of ApexLogics #105 (AL-112).

Scope & reliance
Plan-cost model only: premium + in-network cost sharing up to the out-of-pocket maximum, minus the HSA tax shield on contributions up to the 2026 coverage limit (individual $4,400; family $8,750; IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-19 §2.01(1)). The break-even is the first $50 grid point in [0, 20000] at which the HDHP total is ≤ the PPO total. Out of scope: FSA/HRA interactions, out-of-network and balance billing, prescription tiers, premium tax credits, state HSA deduction rules, HSA investment growth, and the age-55+ catch-up. as_of is an input; the node reads no clock.

Copy this paragraph into Claude, OpenClaw, or any MCP-aware agent to run this exact tool, with this sample, and verify the artifact.

Run the AINumbers MCP tool `estimate_hdhp_ppo_breakeven`. Task: Annual-cost comparator for an HDHP+HSA against a PPO: the break-even medical spend, the two totals at the expected spend, the winner and savings, a fixed key-spend comparison table, the HSA tax shield, and a recommendation.
Call it with arguments: {"policy_parameters":{"as_of":"2026-10-13","coverage":"individual","hdhp_premium_monthly":180,"hdhp_deductible":2800,"hdhp_oop_max":7000,"hdhp_coinsurance_pct":20,"ppo_premium_monthly":380,"ppo_deductible":500,"ppo_oop_max":5000,"ppo_coinsurance_pct":20,"employer_hsa":500,"additional_hsa":1500,"marginal_tax_rate_pct":22,"expected_annual_spend":2000}}
Verify before trusting: call `verify_execution_hash` on mcp.ainumbers.co (https://mcp.ainumbers.co/mcp) with the parameter `claimed_hash` set to the returned `execution_hash`, passing the full artifact the run returned (the object containing `policy_parameters` + `output_payload` + `execution_hash`; equivalently `policy_parameters` + `output_payload` with `claimed_hash`), not the bare hash string.
