Disclosure Effective Date Sequencer

Enter the fiscal year you are closing and your SEC filer status, and this worksheet works out which of the Accounting Standards Updates tracked by the disclosure readiness pack bind for that year. It separates the annual requirement from the interim requirement, because several of these Updates start at different times for the two, and it names the first period each Update actually reaches for your fiscal calendar rather than assuming a December year end. Companion to T581, T582 and T583.

Where the dates come from, and what this page does not claim: the effective dates in the table below were read on 2026-08-15 from the Financial Accounting Standards Board's own published Updates, retrieved as PDFs from the Board's content host after its main site refused automated requests. Each row records the transition paragraph the Update links to, so any date here can be checked against the pronouncement itself. Two things are worth stating plainly. First, these are dated observations rather than a standing promise: ASU 2024-03's effective date has already moved once, by ASU 2025-01, which is exactly the kind of amendment this page exists to track, so re-check the Board's Update index before relying on a date for a filing decision. Second, the output is verify-only. It sequences which Updates reach your fiscal year on the dates recorded here; it does not audit your adoption, does not tell you that a disclosure is complete, and does not account for an early adoption you may already have elected. Deterministic logic, no inference, zero PII.
Step 01Fiscal Year Being Assessed
Enter the last day of the fiscal year you want sequenced. The first day of that year is derived as the day after the previous year end, which is what an effective date phrased as periods beginning after a given date is measured against. If you are a 52 or 53 week filer whose year does not start on a fixed calendar date, set the actual first day yourself in the override field and that value is used instead.
Last day of the year being assessed.
Optional. Leave blank to derive it from the year end.
Step 02Filer Status
Filer status is carried through the sequence and recorded in the export. Read the result honestly on this point: all four of these statuses describe a public business entity, and none of the Updates tracked here sets a different effective date by filer status. Filer status moves your filing deadlines, not these dates. The result panel says so explicitly rather than implying a dependency that does not exist.
All four are public business entities.
